Never renovate anything by yourself. It will only lead to tears, recriminations and no running water for a week.
I hate camping, in fact I still have post traumatic stress from a childhood of camping. I have no interest in using a bucket for a toilet and boiling water to bathe.
Hire a contractor. Even if he robs you blind and burns your house down you're still better off than doing it yourself.
I need to lay down.
